Brief description of the webinar
Lean Six Sigma (LSS) has been utilized by companies to improve the manufacturing and service/transactional processes for more than three decades. LSS is a proven methodology to improve existing processes and products. New products are engines to growth and profitability to many companies. In order to be competitive, companies not only must improve the existing processes and products but also ensure that when new products and processes are introduced they meet or exceed customer expectations in terms of features, quality, delivery, and cost. Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) is a methodology for designing and developing new products and/or processes. It focuses on building quality into the products/processes to avoid costly design re-iterations and fire fighting.This webinar will discuss when it is appropriate to use LSS or DFSS. It will introduce the step by step DFSS methodology. We will discuss gathering Voice of the Customer (VOC), identifying, and optimizing critical product/process characteristics that impact VOC. Several tools associated with DFSS will also be introduced.
